What clients ask us most before starting
Scope, quotes, timelines, coverage, warranties and support — answered straight.
SCOPE AND CONTRACTING
Can I contract a single service line, or do I have to take the whole package?
Each of the six service lines can be contracted independently. Most projects start with one — usually telecontrol and protection, or HSEQ consulting — and add others when the scope justifies it. There is no minimum number of lines.
Do you work on small projects or only on large ones?
We work with scopes of every size, including one-off design reviews, standalone coordination studies or the adjustment of an existing scheme. What we always define before starting is the scope, in writing.
What contracting arrangements do you offer?
Three: fixed-scope project, a monthly block of hours for support and adjustments, and ongoing technical support as project management or supervision.
Do you sign confidentiality agreements?
Yes. It is standard practice on infrastructure projects. If your company has its own template, we review and sign it before receiving any technical information.
QUOTES AND TIMELINES
How long do you take to respond to a request?
We answer every request within 48 business hours. That first reply confirms whether the scope is a fit; the formal proposal usually takes between three and ten business days.
What information do you need in order to quote?
At a minimum: type of installation, voltage level, site location and expected scope. If a single-line diagram or terms of reference already exist, the quote is faster and more accurate.
Is there a charge for the initial technical site visit?
The initial technical conversation and the document review are free of charge. An on-site survey involving travel is quoted separately and is deducted from the contract if the project is awarded.
Do you commit to schedules contractually?
Yes. Every proposal includes a schedule with milestones and deliverables. Milestones that depend on third parties are explicitly flagged as assumptions.
EXECUTION AND COVERAGE
Which parts of the country do you serve?
We are based in Bogotá and serve projects throughout Colombia and Latin America, travelling to site for surveys, testing and commissioning.
Who carries out the work in the field?
DINSI’s own technical team, with support from specialists when the scope calls for it. There is a single technical owner for the project from start to finish.
What happens if a change of scope comes up during execution?
It is handled through formal change control: the impact on cost and schedule is documented and approved before the work is carried out. No additional work is invoiced without prior approval.
Do you deliver documentation in editable format?
Yes. Drawings, calculation reports, PLC programs and SCADA databases are delivered in editable format as well as signed PDF. The documentation belongs to the client.
COMPLIANCE, SUPPORT AND WARRANTY
Does DINSI certify ISO management systems?
No, and no consultant should claim otherwise. Certification is issued by an accredited, independent certification body. We design and implement the system and provide support at whichever stages the client defines.
Does the equipment you supply comply with Colombian regulations?
All equipment is specified under the applicable regulatory framework — RETIE and NTC 2050, plus the relevant IEC/IEEE product standards — and is delivered with certificates of conformity.
What warranty covers the work you deliver?
Engineering and integration are warranted for the agreed period, typically twelve months from commissioning. Equipment keeps the manufacturer’s warranty.
Do you offer support after handover?
Yes — either per incident or through a support agreement with monthly hours and defined response times.
